FS#89 - Cape Town Core - Planned maintenance scheduled 2017-12-07 @00:01-04:00 (SAST)

* What will happen?

Our engineering team will be:
- Onlining an additional protected fibre circuit between CPT and JHB (this brings our CPT<->JHB transit to 2 different FibreCo routes and 2 different Openserve routes across two providers)
- Onlining an additional IP transit circuit and shift traffic from Seacom (this brings two protected routes in JHB and back to two protected routes in CPT)
- Our Cape Town core network will be switched to Jumbo Frames (MTU 9000) to facilitate future layer 2 cloud services

* When will the work be carried out?

This work will be carried out on 2017-12-07 @00:01 and is expected to last less than 30 minutes. This work is considered essential for network redundancy.

* Who will be completing the work?

The work will be completed by our experienced network engineering team.

* Will I experience downtime?

Yes: this maintenance is classified as service impacting. The estimated downtime is 30 minutes, however 4 hours has been allotted just incase unforeseen circumstances delay completion.
